Man Land airs the K2 Lounge on HGTV!

Over 2 years after the original filming, it finally got aired! HGTV’s Man Land finally broadcast the series premiere and amazing enough they chose the episode with the K2 Lounge.

It was a bit strange seeing myself on the Tee Vee. And it was like looking back in time. Especially, considering all the work that i’ve done since the filming. Strange not seeing the beer tap or the jukebox or the new poker table.

Knowing that the camera crew was there for about 10 hours and had about 8 hours of film, it is interesting to see what “made the cut” to go on the show. I would have put in the dogs playing poker with George Gray, but oh well, i’m not the editor.

One editing blooper: they used the photos of the bar construction when talking about how I built the craps table, but oh well, it was a quick shot.

Overall, a very fun experience, but next time, I’m going on a show that gives me a prize or remodels a room or something :)

Many thanks to Matt Apps for DVR’ing, ripping, editing and uploading the video!

  1. They edited out my ’stripper pole’ comments, which makes sense since the show is “G”. If you listen to my part, the dialogue isn’t quite fluid… hehe.

Thanks for having me over Chad, it was fun!

  2. Too cool! I’m glad Matt put it online or I’d never have gotten to see it. You and the K2 lounge totally deserve the recognition! Now to see if I can start building something similar in my basement… yeah right!

  3. OK – a question about a poker table you built – how did you attach the jigsaw to your custom jig (the one with a piece of plywood and the 2×2)?

    thanks

  4. Congrats on getting onto the tee vee. Your bar looks awesome on the show an I know it is even better now.
I want to thank you for the jukebox post, I am stealing your design! I am using album player and having a touch screen too! Thanks for all the info.Someday if you are ever in NY, you’ll have to come by for a beer or two. Or three.
Here is a link if you want to check out my bar:

  5. That’s so crazy after watching the video I realized that u live in Madison WI and I live in Appleton WI and I have been used your site to build my Vegas man cave. I have all ready built the blackjack table and my craps table is halfway done. I have one extra I have restored an older slot machine and my paigow poker layout is on its way.

  6. Hey, I had a question about your basement bar. I would’ve emailed this, but I couldn’t find an address or a contact thing.

How did you attach the fabric around the front of the bar? Some kind of glue or something? I’m in the process of making my own bar (not nearly as nice as yours) and would like to upholster it in a similar manner.
